    Answer: Being an artist means using your imagination to create beautiful things, like drawings and paintings, and practicing a lot to do it better and better. A very famous artist is Leonardo da Vinci, who painted the Mona Lisa. — Being an artist brings together creativity and technique, and knowing the colors and taking care of the materials helps you make beautiful work.

  2. Make three drawings, each one using one of the following techniques:
    • Finger painting;
    • Colored pencils or crayons;
    • Paintbrush.

    Answer: With an adult: 1) In the first drawing, dip your fingers in the paint and draw using only your hands. 2) In the second, make a drawing with colored pencils or crayons, coloring nicely inside the lines. 3) In the third, use a brush with paint to paint. Let each one dry and show the three nice and colorful. — Trying three different ways helps the child discover which technique they like best.

  3. Produce samples using two of these techniques:
    • Carving in vegetables (potato, carrot, beet, turnip, etc.);
    • Cut-out figures (hollow outline);
    • Clay painting;
    • Bread dough art.

    Answer: Choose two techniques and do them with an adult: for example, 1) vegetable stamp: the adult cuts a figure into a potato, you dip it in the paint and stamp it on the paper; or 2) stencil figure: cut an empty outline in a piece of paper and paint inside it. You can also paint a little clay piece or shape bread dough. Show the two finished samples. — Doing two different techniques shows that the child learned more than one way to create art.

    • An invitation;
    • A bookmark;
    • A greeting card;
    • A poster.

    Answer: Choose two and make them with an adult: for example, 1) a bookmark: cut a strip of thick paper and decorate it with drawings and colors; and 2) a greeting card: fold a piece of paper in half, draw on the cover and write a loving message inside. You can also make an invitation or a colorful poster. Show off your two finished projects. — Making useful and beautiful things shows that the child knows how to use art in everyday life.
