Requirements

  1. Find a text in the Bible that shows to whom everything on earth belongs. Use a Bible Concordance.

Answer: Everything on earth belongs to God, because it was He who created everything. A text that shows this is Psalm 24:1, which says: 'The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it.' — Since God created the sky, the earth, and everything that exists, everything belongs to Him.

  2. Describe a wise steward.

Answer: A wise steward is someone who takes good care of the things that God has given them. They know that everything belongs to God, so they use their time, money, body, and belongings with care, return the tithe and offerings, and do not waste. — A steward is someone who takes care of another person's things; the wise steward takes good care of what belongs to God.

  3. Find, read, and explain Malachi 3:8 to 10.

Answer: In Malachi 3:8 to 10, God asks people to return to Him the tithe (the tenth part, that is, 1 out of every 10) and the offerings. He says that, when we return faithfully, He opens the windows of heaven and pours out many blessings upon us. It is an invitation to trust in God and be faithful. — In this text, God promises to bless those who faithfully return the tithe and offerings.

  4. Fill out your own tithe and offering envelope and give it to God during the offering time at church.

Answer: 1) Ask an adult at church for a tithe and offering envelope. 2) With their help, write your name and the amount of the tithe and the offering in the right fields. 3) Put the money inside. 4) During the offering time, in the worship service, hand in the envelope with joy and say a prayer of gratitude to God. — Filling out and handing in the envelope helps the child be faithful and truly practice stewardship.

  5. Make and decorate a special container to keep your money for spending, for saving, and for tithes and offerings. Learn to record what you receive and to calculate tithes and offerings.

Answer: 1) Get a little jar, box, or piggy bank and divide it into 3 parts: 'Spend,' 'Save,' and 'Tithes and Offerings.' 2) Decorate it with colors, stickers, or drawings. 3) Whenever you receive money, write down the amount in a little notebook. 4) For the tithe, with an adult's help, set aside 1 part out of every 10 (the tenth part) and keep it in the 'Tithes and Offerings' space. — Dividing the money into parts teaches the child to be organized and faithful to God.

  6. Make a poster showing some of the things your offering is used for.

Answer: 1) Get a poster board or large sheet of paper. 2) Write a title, like 'What my offering is for.' 3) Draw or paste pictures of things that the offering helps: missionaries, churches, help for people in need, church projects, and spreading the gospel. 4) Color and decorate it, and show the poster to your class or family. — The poster helps you understand that the offering is used to bless many people and bring God's love.

  7. Read the Bible story of the widow and her small offering.

Answer: 1) Open the Bible to Mark 12:41 to 44 (it is also in Luke 21:1 to 4). 2) Read the story of the poor widow with an adult. 3) Talk about what happened: she gave only two little coins, but it was all she had, and Jesus said she gave more than the rich people, because she gave with love and from the heart. — The story teaches that God looks at the heart and the love with which we give, not just the size of the offering.

  8. Tell how and why the wise steward will take care of his belongings.

Answer: The wise steward takes good care of their things by keeping them in the right place, not damaging or wasting them, and keeping everything organized and clean. They do this because they know that everything comes from God and that they need to care lovingly for what God has given them. — Those who understand that everything belongs to God take care of their things with gratitude and responsibility.
