Atividades Espirituais
Requirements
- Own a Bible identified with your name.
Answer: 1) Ask your parents or your leader for a Bible that is your own. 2) With an adult's help, write your name very nicely on the first page, or stick on a label with your name. 3) Keep your Bible in a special place and bring it when you go to the club or to church. — Having a Bible of your very own, with your name on it, helps you take good care of it and read the Word of God.
- Talk about the respect one should have for the Bible and how to handle it properly.
Answer: The Bible is the Word of God, so we treat it with great care and respect. We should pick it up with clean hands, not scribble on it or tear the pages, not throw it on the floor, and keep it in a clean and tidy place. We also respect it when we read it carefully and do what it teaches. — The Bible is the Word of God, so taking good care of it shows our love and respect for Him.
- Say the names of the first and last book of the Bible and who wrote them.
Answer: The first book of the Bible is Genesis, written by Moses. The last book is Revelation, written by John. — The Bible goes from Genesis, written by Moses, to Revelation, written by John.
- Tell or act out the following Bible stories or doctrines:
- Creation;
- The beginning of sin and sorrow;
- Jesus loves me today;
- Jesus is coming again.
Answer: 1) The Creation: tell how God made the sky, the earth, the animals, and people in 6 days and rested on the 7th (Genesis 1 and 2). 2) The beginning of sin and sadness: tell how Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit, and how because of that sadness came into the world (Genesis 3). 3) Jesus loves me today: say that Jesus takes care of you every day and is always by your side. 4) Jesus is coming again: tell how Jesus promised to come back in the clouds to take those who love Him to heaven. You can tell it in your own words, draw it, or do a little play with an adult's help. — Acting out these stories helps you understand God's love, from the Creation to the return of Jesus.
- Find, read, and explain three of the following verses that speak about the love of Jesus:
- John 3:16;
- Psalm 91:11;
- John 14:3;
- Psalm 23:1;
- Another, of your choice.
Answer: Choose three verses and explain them in your own words. 1) John 3:16: God loved the world so much that He sent Jesus to save us and give us eternal life. 2) Psalm 91:11: God sends His angels to care for and protect you wherever you go. 3) John 14:3: Jesus promised to prepare a place in heaven and come back to get us. 4) Psalm 23:1: The Lord is my shepherd and takes care of me, so I lack nothing. Look for each verse by first finding the book, then the chapter, and then the verse. — These verses show, in different ways, how much Jesus loves and cares for you.
- Make objects and typical clothing to represent a Bible story or parable.
Answer: 1) With an adult's help, choose a Bible story or parable (for example, the Lost Sheep or David and Goliath). 2) Think about who appears in it and what they wore: tunics, sandals, a shepherd's staff. 3) Use simple materials like an old sheet, felt fabric, cardboard, string, and glue to make the clothes and the objects. 4) Get dressed up and act out the story for your family or for the club. — Making the clothes and objects makes the Bible story more real and fun to tell.
- Use a sandbox with figures or a flannelgraph to tell a Bible story of your choice.
Answer: 1) Choose a Bible story you like (for example, Noah's Ark or Daniel in the lions' den). 2) For the sandbox: put sand in a box and use little figures, small stones, and pictures to set up the scenes. For the flannel board: use a piece of flannel or felt cloth and stick on paper pictures that cling to it. 3) Move the figures around as you tell the story, from beginning to end, for your family or for the club. — Telling the story by moving figures helps everyone understand and remember it.
